Anne Klein was born in New York in 1923. Her real name was Hannah Golofsky before she married Ben Klein. In 1948, together with her husband, she opens the company "Junior Sophisticates" and launches her first clothing collection of dresses, jackets, skirts and blazers.

In 1968, willing to design for the women with sporty style she founded a new Anne Klein studio, where such famous designers of today as Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan and Calvin Klein would be able to gain fashion experience. It was Anne Klein to notice the talented young designers, who started climb to the top in fashion industry by working with Anne.

In the early 70's Anne Klein started to pay more attention on shoes and watches, thereby contributing to the  premium fashion market.

Anne Klein died at the peak of her success in 1974. However, Anne Klein clothing trademark continues to flourish. Since 1985, Anne Klein clothing collection is created by designer Isabel Toledo, born in Cuba, who is steadily developing the concept, started by the company founder.
