Lowe spent much of her childhood is Primrose Hill in North London. In fact, when her mother moved to Hampshire, Lowe elected to remain with her grandparents so she could finish school (she attended South Hampstead High School). At 15, while in Camden Town, she was contacted by a talent scout. Eventually, she signed a contract with Select, a modelling agency based in London. Thus began her professional modelling career.
Lowe was raised believing that her father was Pearl Lowe’s ex-husband Bronner, and there was no question of his paternity for quite some time. However, when she was 15, Lowe discovered that she had O-type blood, which neither her mother nor Bronner had. Eventually, her mother revealed to Lowe (and to the world in her book) that her godfather, Gavin Rossdale, was most likely her father. She then made a legal request for a paternity test, which Rossdale eventually agreed to.
Daisy Lowe is 1.78 metres tall and has measurements of 81-61-86.5. She wears a 34 dress and a size 6 shoe. She has brown eyes and dark brown hair.
Modelling on the Catwalk
Lowe’s runway experience includes appearances in Milan, London, and New York. The German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld personally selected her to be a Chanel model. Daisy Lowe has also modelled for designers Henry Holland, Charlotte Ronson, Sue Stemp, Nanette Lepore, and Vivienne Westwood. Lowe has modelled lingerie for Agent Provocateur, shoes for Converse and Dr. Martens, and produces for Burberry, DKNY, Urban Outfitters, Wheels and Doll Baby, Whistles, and Diesel SpA. She has also modelled some of the clothing her mother has designed. Starting in 2009, Lowe became the model for the line Marc by Marc Jacobs and has begun appearing in ads for Pringle of Scotland.
Magazine Shots and Covers
In addition to appearing on the catwalk, Daisy Lowe has also made several appearances in magazines. She has been on the covers of Elle, Vogue, Marie Claire, Interview, Tattler, Paradis, Dirty Glam, Teen Vogue, Jalouse, Grazia, Nylon, The Sunday Times Style, In Style, i-D, and French. She also appears in the 2010 Pirelli calendar.
Budding Acting Career
Daisy Lowe has made a few television appearances. In 2008, she appeared as herself on the reality television show Class of 2008. She has also made appearances in several music videos and co-hosted Glamour’s Best Dressed 2008 special. She is set to appear in The First Days of Spring, a television series by writer/director Charlie Fink.
Lowe has dated a few men since 2007. She first dated musician William Cameron Jr., who was once a member of the band Blondelle. They broke up in January of 2008. She then began dating Mark Ronson, a music producer. Their relationship ended in September of 2008. More recently, she and Cameron have reunited.
Cervical Cancer Scare and Depression
In July of 2009, it was revealed that Daisy Lowe had a scare with cervical cancer in May. During a routine examination, doctors found pre-cancerous cells, and Lowe was scheduled for an operation. Because of the early prevention, Lowe is now completely fine. However, she has acknowledged going through a period of severe depression following the diagnosis.
