The Diesel clothing company was first launched in 1978 in Italy, and built its reputation around its innovative denim designs. The company is synonymous with quality clothing and has grown since it was launched all those years ago to now selling in eighty countries around the world. The focus of the Diesel company was to establish itself in the fashion industry by designing unique denims, t-shirts, designer wear and accessories for men and women.
Diesel became known for its innovative designs which stood out from the crowd for being different. For this reason it was not long before there was a large following for Diesel clothing making it one of the leading companies in the fashion industry.
The Fall/Winter 09-10 collection is no exception. There is a climatic influence to this collection with three main themes of ‘Rain’, ‘Storm’ and ‘Destroyed’. The pieces in the collection are as always unique and distinctive.
The Diesel Jeans Fall/Winter 09-10 collection has a range of stunning denim designs for men and women. There pieces are grouped into the rain, storm and destroyed categories and showcase the fresh appeal of autumn.
The denims designed under the storm theme are all ultra treated with fragmented lines and dashes and comprising of lightening effects. The Timmen, a straight fit jean and the Darron, which has a tapered fit are both styles in the Storm range.
The Destroyed look features the Poiak, a tapered fit, and the Larkee and Viker-R-Box, which are both straight fits. This style of denim is distressed with slashes and cuts to give unique “one of a kind” pieces. They are the ultimate in destroyed denim looks.
The Krooley, Darron and Safado which are all tapered fits appear in the Rain range along with the straight fit Larkee. The denims used in the Rain range are all rain washed and feature patterns showing irregular water droplets.
The jeans for women feature the three themes also and in keeping with the climatic inspired themes, the denims in this collection are predominantly dark with navies, blacks and greys in abundance.
The Storm theme for women features the Lhela, Newz and Soozy which are all straight fits focusing on the slim figure. In keeping with the slim look, the featured fits in the Destroyed range include the Chero, Matic, Nevy and Ronhary which are all skinny, straight or legging fits. The Rain range features the Matic skinny fit and a flattering bootcut fit in the form of the Louvely.
To complement their denim collection, Diesel have also designed a range of pieces again within the three weather inspired themes. To emphasise the slim figure, there were a range of slim fitted jackets created from heavy fabrics layered with lighter fabrics. Again the focus was on dark colours with blacks and greys being the dominant colours. Contrasting colours featured teals, reds and whites. The entire collection for Fall/Winter had a jazzy undertone which once again gave Diesel a unique yet fashionable collection of jeans and other wear.
