When she was younger, she was able to meet former US President Bill Clinton face to face after he delivered a speech at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Cameron Russell is brown-haired and brown-eyed and she stands at five feet and ten inches. With these physical attributes, she was discovered as a model at a very young age of 16 in Maine. Because she was still in high school at that time, she only worked part-time. She was committed to her studies, the student turned model was able to graduate from Commonwealth School in the year 2005.
A year before graduation, Cameron Russell began her career as one of the Ford models. Her mother had a friend who worked there so the young Russell decided to sign with the agency.
She spent four productive and fabulous years with the modeling agency and later on moved on to a different agency to expand her horizons.
She appeared at the fall Prada and Fendi shows in Milan and on the cover of French Revue de Modes in 2004. She was also part of the Face of Jill Stuart fall ad campaign, the Oscar de la Renta spring ad campaign and the CK Jeans spring ad campaign –establishing Cameron Russell as one of the up and coming babes in the fashion world.
Cameron Russell transferred to DNA Model Management in 2006. The modeling agency based in New York boasts names like the ultra-sexy Linda Evangelista, and other famous models such as Adriana Lima and Oluchi Onweagba.
Russell appeared on several magazines like Italian Marie Claire, V, British Harper’s Bazaar and Flair where she showed off her beautiful face and hot body.
Her face was also on the H&M, Lacoste, Armani jeans and Salvatore Ferragamo spring and fall advertisement campaigns –Cameron was slowly rising to the top at the time, being one of the most coveted new faces in fashion town.
The pretty young lady was also featured on Yves Saint Laurent’s advertising campaigns and also had the chance to work with many famous and successful photographers such as Craig McDean, Steven Meisel, David Sims, Mario Sorrenti, Inez and Vinoodh, and Nick Knight and appeared on several more magazines including Self Service, Vogue, Italia, W, and Numero.
Runway shows for designers like Marc Jacobs, Prada, Chanel, and Dolce & Gabana. Versace, Ralph Lauren, Vivienne Westwood, Diane von Furstenberg and Louis Vuitton are also under her belt, although a rookie, the American model is loved by the couture houses.
She signed with Women Management in 2008 and they represent her up to now. Calvin Klein signed her to be an endorser of the Calvin Klein fragrances. Her sister, Linnea Russell is also part of the CK One fragrance ad campaign.
Russell is also affiliated with Models1 London and D’Managemnt Milan.

Her friends include models Lisa Cant, Anouck Lepere, the doll-like Canadian Heather Marks, Kim Noorda, Shannan Click, Doutzen Kroes, Matt Gordon and Leah Wavrin.
Although Cameron Russell is so in demand right now, she still finds ways not to let modeling get in the way of her studies. She is an undergraduate student at Columbia University, majoring in Economics and Mathematics. Even math is dazzled by Russell’s beauty and brains.
The model turned entrepreneur much like her parents has an upcoming mass art project called “Interview New York”, in which she is the founder and director.

In one of her interviews, she told an anecdote about her first Calvin Klein show where she was required to wear heels and the model said she did not know how to walk with those.
With her ingenuity and brains, she practiced before the show and tried her best not to trip. Now a big sister to many newcomers in the fashion industry, she advises young and aspiring models to not have to accept all offers that come their way. They could still make wise choices so as not to be taken advantage of by agents and photographers. “Being in the fashion industry and having this type of profession is like winning the lottery”, she said.
She admitted that her height plays a vital role in her modeling career.
Her most favorite project this season was doing the Alexander Wang show because of the great music and fantastic people she worked with.
Miss Cameron Russell is always in a rush since she is currently busy with school, fashion shows and photo shoots, and working with non-profit organizations on the side. She has so many things going on that it is a wonder how she manages to find time for each of these things. She shared that most of her free time is spent on doing her homework. And she barely has free time because she usually runs from one show to another. All she could manage with that little time is let someone fix her hair and make up, small talk with her fellow models, the producers, the stylists or the designers, and then the show begins.
Cameron Russell is also into cycling, running marathons and going to the Bryant park movie nights. She is vegetarian. She likes kung fu and playing the cello. She dreams to be a fiction writer. She has a boyfriend, Andrew Elliott, who is a photographer who used to assist Steven Meisel and Craig McDean. Both Meisel and McDean had worked with Russell in her past photo shoots.
