Emily Sandberg is an American model who was born in Rochester, Minnesota, on 26 May 1981. She has also done some acting. Her mother was an actress, and she encouraged Sandberg to join a mime troupe when she was 13. Sandberg performed at some festivals and schools, and she did her own shows at local malls on the weekends. She later branched out and began doing regional productions of various plays. She was eventually cast in an off-Broadway production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Unabridged. She moved to New York City for the run of the play, and it was there that she was discovered by a modelling scout. Sandberg signed with NEXT Model Management. She is also represented by Trump, L.A. Models, Model Team, and SMG.
Standing 175 cm, Sandberg has reddish blonde hair and blue eyes. Her measurements are 86.5-63.5-89, and she wears a 36 dress and a 41 shoe. She is known for her hair and for her bright eyes.
On the Runway
Sandberg’s first major runway event was in February of 1999 when she walked for Dolce & Gabbana and for Jil Sander in their fall shows in Milan. She later walked for Dries Van Noten, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, and Louis Vuitton in October. She took a few years off the runway, but she reappeared in September of 2002 modelling Marc Jacobs and Anna Sui in their New York spring shows. She also walked for Christian Dior, Narciso Rodriguez, and Christian Lacroix during this time. She then vanished from the runway again until February of 2007, when she walked in the fall Naum show. While she was very popular in the early 2000’s, Sandberg has mostly retired from the runway now.
Shortly after being discovered, Sandberg was named the face of Armani Collezioni in 1998. She followed this up with a cover appearance on Italian Vogue in November. The next year, she again appeared on the cover of Italian Vogue, plus she was featured in two editorials for the publication. She also appeared in the Versace Atelier ad campaign and the fall Fendi ad campaign. In 2000, she was featured in Harper’s Bazaar. Sandberg graced the cover of Italian Vogue again in 2002. When she returned to modelling after her break, she appeared on the cover of the June 2006 issue of Japanese Vogue and in Italian Flair. In 2007, she again appeared in Italian Flair and in an editorial in Marie Claire.
As an Actress
Sandberg has had some small success as an actress. To date, she has had three roles: She appeared in a small, unaccredited role in the hit film The Devil Wears Prada. She also appeared in Employee of the Month that same year. Her most recent work as an actress was in Old Dogs, where she will appear alongside Robin Williams and John Travolta.
Sandberg married Gary Gold, a music producer, in 2005. The two spend their time in their New York City loft and in their home in Beachwood Canyon, Los Angeles.
